Terms of use
This online classroom is run by your tuition centre, Acadence App Test ("the centre"). The software, called Acadence, is provided to the centre by BOOK IN CHAT PTE. LTD. (UEN 202646792Z) ("Acadence"), which runs it for the centre. Your lessons, your marks and your place at the centre are matters between you and the centre. By using this site you agree to these terms.
Your account
- The centre creates your account and gives you a first password. Change it the first time you sign in, to one that is at least 12 characters long and that you do not use anywhere else. Never share it, even with friends in your class.
- Tell your tutor straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
Your work
- Submit only your own work. Your tutor may ask you to redo work that is not yours.
- Worksheets, marking schemes, model answers and practice questions belong to the centre, Acadence or their owners. Do not share, copy or sell them. Downloaded copies are marked with your details so they can be traced.
Marking
- Your tutor decides every mark on your worksheets. Where the centre uses AI to help, the AI only suggests marks, remarks and tips, and a tutor checks them before you see a result (see the AI marking consent).
- Practice marked by AI is not checked by a tutor, is labelled that way, and never goes into your gradebook (see AI marking of practice).
- AI can be wrong. If you disagree with a mark, ask your tutor to look again at your original work.
Behaviour
- Be respectful in anything you write. Do not try to see other people's work, use someone else's account, or break or overload the site.
Who is responsible
- The centre is responsible for its classes, its tutors, the marks and feedback it gives you, and how it uses this site. Questions or complaints about these go to the centre.
- Acadence makes the software. The centre's tutors decide your marks and give you feedback. Your rights under the law are not affected.
The centre may suspend accounts that break these terms. These terms are governed by Singapore law. Questions: ask your tutor or the centre (ask your tutor).

What personal data we keep, why, who can see it, and your choices.

Privacy notice
This notice explains what personal data this site keeps about you, why, who sees it, and your choices.
Who is responsible
- Acadence App Test ("the centre") is responsible for your data under Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA). It decides what is collected and why.
- BOOK IN CHAT PTE. LTD. (UEN 202646792Z), 60 Paya Lebar Road, #6-28, Paya Lebar Square, Singapore 409051 ("Acadence"), provides and runs the software for the centre. It handles your data only on the centre's instructions, except for the optional uses in Acadence's own uses below.
What the centre keeps
- Account details: your name, username, class and, for parents, which child they are linked to.
- An email address you give us (your own or a parent's), used to send password-reset codes and to tell you when your password or email changes.
- Your schoolwork: what you write or type on worksheets and practice, photos or files you upload, marks, tutor feedback, and AI suggestions and readings of your work.
- Records of activity, such as when you submitted work, and who changed a mark, for security and to settle disputes about marks.
- Technical records: when you sign in, your device and browser type and IP address, used to keep accounts secure.
- Records of the policies you or your parent accepted, and when.
Why
- To run your classes: give out worksheets, collect and mark work, and show your progress to you, your tutor and your linked parent.
- To improve teaching at the centre, using class-level results inside the centre, for example which questions a class finds hardest.
- Only if you agree to the separate, optional AI marking consent (and AI marking of practice): to get suggested marks from an AI service. If you are 13 or older you can agree yourself; if you are under 13, your parent or guardian must agree for you.
Who can see it
- Your tutors and the centre's staff. A parent linked to your account sees your released results and progress.
- Companies that run parts of the service, which may use your data only to provide it: Contabo (servers in Singapore), Cloudflare (secure connection to the site), Brevo (password-reset emails; it receives only your email address and the code), and, only with your AI consent, the AI services named in the AI marking consent. Some of these process data outside Singapore. Acadence uses each one under its standard data-protection terms, which are written mainly for EU and US law and do not mention Singapore's law. The full list, with where each one works, is at acadence.net/legal/providers.
Acadence's own uses
- Acadence may make statistics that cannot identify anyone (for example, how often tutors accept AI suggestions) to run and improve its service.
- Acadence will use your work to improve its AI or learning materials, or show it in its promotion, only with a separate, optional consent from your parent or guardian (or from you, if you are 18 or older). If nobody gives it, your work is never used for these.
How long
Your work, marks, feedback, AI suggestions and the text read from your work are kept while you are enrolled and for 12 months after you leave, then deleted. The full AI request and reply for practice are deleted after 90 days. Records of consents and the log of who changed a mark are kept for 6 years after you leave, in case of a dispute. The centre's monthly billing records, which list which students handed in work that month (no schoolwork), are kept for 7 years as financial records. Backups are overwritten within 30 days. AI services keep their copies as stated in the AI marking consent.
Your choices
- You or your parent or guardian can ask the centre to see or correct your data. The centre will reply within 30 days, or tell you when it can.
- If you withdraw a consent, that use stops. You can withdraw the AI consents yourself on your profile page under Policies and agreements. If you withdraw the Terms or Privacy consent, the centre may not be able to keep your account, but it will still give you your marks.
- Parents and guardians: if your child is under 13, the centre needs your consent before your child uses this site, and for AI marking. You can see, correct or withdraw consent for your child's data in the same way. A linked parent sees released results and progress only.
If something goes wrong
If your data is lost or seen by someone who should not see it, and it could cause you significant harm, the centre will tell you (and your parent or guardian if you are under 18) and the PDPC, as the law requires. Acadence tells the centre without undue delay.
Contact
About your data at the centre: ask your tutor. About the Acadence software: Acadence's data protection officer, Lee Cheng Han, dpo@acadence.net. You can also contact the PDPC at www.pdpc.gov.sg.
Summary
Optional: let an AI suggest marks for your work. A tutor always checks and decides the mark.
Full policy
AI marking consent
In short: photos of your worksheet answers (not your name) go to an AI service, which suggests marks. Your tutor checks every suggestion and decides your mark. You can say no, or change your mind later on your profile page, and your tutor will mark by hand.
This is optional. The centre now uses OpenAI (below), whose terms need your parent's or guardian's agreement while you are under 18. Your parent or guardian can agree in the parent app, or on the centre's signed form, which the centre records. You can read this and say no yourself at any time. With this agreement the centre may use an AI service to suggest marks for your worksheets. The AI may also draft short remarks and tips on your work. A tutor checks every suggestion, and changes or removes it, before you see a result. The tutor, not the AI, decides your mark. If you do not agree, your tutor marks your work as usual. Nothing else changes.
What is sent
- Images of your worksheet pages and your answers, the questions and the marking scheme.
- Not your name, username or account details. If you write your name on the page, it will be in the image, so please leave it off.
Where it goes
The centre's software provider, BOOK IN CHAT PTE. LTD. ("Acadence"), sends your work to one of the AI services below, chosen by Acadence for the centre. Each service may use your work only to give the suggestions back. Acadence uses each one only where it believes the service's own terms allow it for your work.
- Alibaba Cloud (Singapore) Pte Ltd (Qwen AI). Kept in Singapore; the AI may run on Alibaba computers in other countries outside mainland China. Alibaba says it does not use your work to train its AI. It usually keeps a copy for up to 30 days (up to 2 years if its safety checks flag something), then deletes it.
- OpenAI (OpenAI OpCo, LLC, United States). Processed in the United States or other countries where OpenAI works. OpenAI does not use your work to train its AI and keeps a copy for up to 30 days. Used now (GPT-6.1 Sol), only for a student whose parent or guardian has agreed. Never used for a student under 13.
- Anthropic (Anthropic, PBC, United States; Claude models). Processed in the United States or other countries where Anthropic works. Anthropic does not use your work to train its AI. It usually keeps a copy for up to 30 days (up to 2 years if its safety checks flag something). Not used today.
- National University of Singapore, School of Computing (its AI service). Not used. NUS has not published where its service runs or what it keeps.
- Google (Gemini). Never used for your work. The centre may use it to read its own question papers and marking schemes.
- The centre may also use a program on its own server to read the text in your work.
- We do not use any other AI company for your work. If that changes, you will be asked again.
- The current details of each service, including where it runs and how long it keeps data, are at acadence.net/legal/providers.
What is kept
- The suggested marks, remarks, the text the AI read from your work, and your tutor's decision, so tutors can check and improve the marking. These follow the retention in the Privacy notice.
- AI can be wrong. If you think a mark is wrong, ask your tutor. A tutor will look at your original work, not the AI's reading of it.
Changing your mind
You, or your parent or guardian if they agreed for you, can withdraw this consent at any time on your profile page under Policies and agreements. AI marking stops for your future work straight away, including work already waiting. Suggestions already made stay in your record as described in the Privacy notice. Copies held by an AI service are deleted on its schedule (above).
